Obituary
Wilbert J. Tan

Morrisville, North Carolina

Age 56.
Died 2/18/2025.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilbert “Wil” Janolino Tan, who left us on February 18, 2025, at the age of 56 in Morrisville, North Carolina. Born on July 18, 1968, in Cebu, Philippines, Wil lived a life filled with laughter, service, and passion. Wil was best known for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor, always ready with a joke to brighten the room. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm, demonstrating his dedication and bravery. Following active duty, he continued his service with the Marine Forces Reserve. Through the years, Wil cultivated a deep appreciation for military history and traditions. Wil was also a karate instructor, sharing his knowledge and discipline with students of all ages. Beyond his military and martial arts interests, he was an avid sports enthusiast, especially when it came to soccer and darts. His competitive spirit and love for the game were evident in every match he played. Wil's partner, Amy Hahn, passed away on March 10, 2025. Wil is lovingly remembered by his parents, Antonio and Anita Tan; his siblings, Lani Travis (Harry), Lalaine Tan, and Neil Tan (Maureen); and his nephews, Rylan Travis and Aidan Tan. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but forever treasured. A service will be held at the City of Oaks Funeral Home, where friends and loved ones can gather to share memories and honor his legacy. In lieu of flowers, optional donations may be made in Wil's memory to The Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.WoundedWarriorProject.Org) or The Disabled American Veterans, Charitable Service Trust (https://cst.dav.org).

For additional information or for service details, please reach out to the family directly.
