Obituary
Sharon Karlic

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 78.
Died 4/21/2023.

Sharon Louise Karlic of Raleigh, NC, passed away Friday April 21st, 2023. Sharon was born to William Hyde and Phoebe Hyde on December 16th, 1944, in New Haven, CT. Sharon was married to Ronald Karlic until his passing in September 2011. In 2013 Sharon moved to Raleigh, NC from Poughkeepsie, NY, after retiring as a Principal in upstate, NY. Sharon spent her retired years in NC being a wonderful, hands-on Grandma, volunteering at Wake County Public Schools, and being very involved (plus making many friends) at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. For the past almost two years, Sharon has also made many friends and enjoyed activities, meals, etc with the friends she made at The Gardens at Wakefield, where she was residing. Sharon is survived by her son, Ron (Butch) Karlic Jr. and daughter-in-law Jennie, of Pleasant Valley, NY; son Steve Karlic, daughter-in-law Jackie, and grandchildren, Rylee and Garren, of Raleigh, NC; sister, Maureen Lennon of Norwich, CT, along with several step-children/grandchildren, nieces, many friends, and extended family. Sharon loved her sons very much. Her grandkids loved having ‘Grandma Karlic’ around, and she thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being their Grandmother, creating so many memories with them through the years. Sharon was also an avid reader, used to enjoy crocheting, and loved all things Christmas. Sharon’s faith was very strong. She felt at home, right away, with Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, so in lieu of flowers, to honor Sharon’s memory, strong faith, and generosity, donations can be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at: https://www.pgumc.org/donate A memorial service for Sharon will be held Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at 4415 Pleasant Grove Church Rd Raleigh, NC 27613.
