Obituary
Scott Krutsch

Cary, North Carolina

Age 59.
Died 5/27/2025.

Scott Allen Krutsch October 25, 1965 – May 27, 2025 Scott Allen Krutsch of Cary, North Carolina, died peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 59 due to complications from a car accident. Born in Berea, Ohio, on October 25, 1965, Scott lived a life marked by intellectual curiosity, quiet generosity, and devotion to family and friends. He held a Master’s degree in mathematics and shared his love of the subject both as a professor and later through his work as a software engineer and census field representative. A man of faith, Scott was a member of Fairmont United Methodist Church. He sang as a tenor in the choir for 30 years, and worked behind the scenes on various committees such as the finance committee and the nominations committee, even volunteering to serve as the chair of the financial campaign for several years. When asked to prepare food for church meals, Scott loved to try out new recipes. Scott’s mind was sharp and strategic, qualities he channeled into his passion for games. Whether playing a complex board game or an intense round of bridge, he delighted in thoughtful play—especially when it meant spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews. He loved to include the little ones and modified rules as needed so that everyone could have fun. Due to his kind and gentle soul, Scott had a special connection with animals. Dogs and cats alike seemed to recognize a kindred spirit in him, and he returned their affection wholeheartedly. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Roy Krutsch, along with many other loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Suzy Krutsch; his daughters, Shayna and Shianne Krutsch; his mother, Louise Krutsch; his brother, David Krutsch, sister-in-law, Wendy Krutsch, and many nieces and nephews including his God children Mallory and Ethan Krutsch. He leaves behind many other extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his warmth, intelligence, and strong sense of humor. Scott’s legacy lives on in the minds he inspired, the games he loved, and the lives he touched with kindness. A service will be held at Fairmont United Methodist Church at 2501 Clark Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina at 4:00 on June 14, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott’s memory to Fairmont UMC or Rise Against Hunger (https://riseagainsthunger.org/).
