Obituary
Robert Charles Krauser

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 84.
Died 10/26/2024.

Robert Krauser passed away peacefully at Transitions Hospice on October 26, 2024, just two weeks shy of his 85th birthday. While he will be greatly missed, his spirit will live on through his family and the shared memories of his gentle nature, love of laughter, and a life well lived. Rob served in the Air Force after high school and began his career as a police officer soon after in his home town of Cheltenham, right outside of Philadelphia. He was an avid hunter in his younger years and won many marksmanship competitions at the rifle range. Rob attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA for a summer training program in the early 1980's and continued learning until his retirement after 30 years in 1992 as Lieutenant Detective. Rob was instrumental in starting the D.A.R.E. program in the district and was immensely proud to coordinate police security with the U.S. Secret Service in 1989 when George Bush gave the commencement speech at Cheltenham High School. Rob loved his career very much but was ready to retire with his wife to Florida when the time came, which they did. In Rob's later years, fishing became his peace. He loved to be on a boat somewhere on the water with a rod and reel in his hand, and enjoyed that for the 18 years he lived in Florida before moving to Raleigh. Rob is survived by his devoted wife Lorrie of 54 years, daughter Kristin Roscoe (Chris), granddaughters Rebecca and Abigail, sister Dorothea Gleason (Bob), and brother David Krauser (Pat).
