Rena Jean Carlyle Long

Zebulon, North Carolina

Age 82.
Died 3/23/2022.

Rena Jean Carlyle Long 82, left this world March 23, 2022 after complications from Lymphoma. She was born May 18, 1939 to Jessie Earl Carlyle & Bethie Bell Carlyle She is survived by her daughter Yvonne L. Tetterton & husband Mike & her great granddaughter Lillian (Lily) Abigail Williford, sister Margaret Lou Bunn, brother Thomas Earl Carlyle & wife Lauren. Nephews Greg Bunn & Henry Bunn & niece Amanda Reader. God Daughter Jennifer Buetow, She had many friends that she loved dearly Jamie Craft, Debbie & Randy Carlyle (also family) & their children & granddaughters, Charles & Shirley Wood, John Thompson, Stuffy Carlyle, and so many more. Preceded in death by her son Johnny Lee Long II My mom was known for many years as “the chicken lady” she always said she loved animals more than she did most people. Through the years she had so many accomplishments one of which was being a loving granny to her grandson Jonathan Phillips who preceded her in death “he is not dead but asleep” were her words. She also loved her great-granddaughter Lillian (Lily) Abigail with all her ❤️. Back in her younger years she graduated from Hardbarger Business College & not only worked for Governor Terry Sanford but wrote a book with him. She bought the best gifts ever!! She enjoyed sending cards out to everyone on every occasion. There will be visitation followed by a short service on Saturday March 26th at 1pm Samaria Baptist Church 3752 Samaria Church Lane Middlesex, NC 27557 In lieu of flowers she wanted donations sent to the Franklin County Animal Shelter 351 T Kemp Rd Louisburg NC 27549 Or an animal shelter of your choice Thanks Yvonne, Mike & Lily
