Age 63.
Died 3/31/2022.

Raymond Edward Griffin, age 63, of Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully after a difficult battle with cancer on March 31, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Ray was born on February 22, 1959 to Everett and Helen Griffin in Waterloo, Iowa. Ray grew up in a large, loving and competitive family with four brothers and sisters who remain close and supportive. With his infectious humor and big heart, Ray quickly made many friends, including his golf buddies at Wildwood Green, his neighbors and the Bourbon Brothers. Ray had great love for his family, lived life to the fullest and had a passion for all sports especially golf and Carolina basketball. Ray is survived by his parents; wife, Joy Croom; son, Jonathan Griffin (Gillian), daughter, Katie Griess (Jason); step-daughters, Denisen Croom and Anna Croom; sisters, Maggie Griffin and Diane West; brothers, Greg Griffin (Pam), and Bruce Griffin (Alicia). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren whom he adored, Brookelyn Griffin, Braelyn Griffin, Brycen Griffin and Connor Griess. Services will be held at Greystone Baptist Church on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 1:00. Interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Alan Kritz and the Rex Oncology team and Transitions Lifecare for the loving care provided to Ray during his illness.
