Obituary
Phil Williams

Holly Springs, North Carolina

Age 66.
Died 2/11/2023.

Philip Malcolm Williams (66) of Cary, NC passed away Saturday morning, February 11th, 2023. In his final days, he was comforted by the presence of his lifelong friends, close family members and his faith in Christ. Phil was born March 28, 1956 in Lancaster, SC, the son of the late Benjamin Loyd Williams and Mildred Pauline Malcolm. He followed in his father’s footsteps and had a career in furniture sales traveling around North Carolina representing various furniture manufacturers for many years and eventually operating a store of his own. In days of better health, Phil was an active athlete, particularly excelling in basketball and having many years of softball success. He was an impressive water skier and made countless memories with friends and family while boating, fishing and camping on lakes all across the Carolinas. Phil loved to dance and won many dance contests through the years. He adored teaching others his dance moves and talking about his love for music; especially Elvis, Motown, and beach music. Phil loved driving fast and working on cars, telling stories about the old days in Cary, and was proud of his service in the Marines. He was determined to do things his way and was always known as the life of the party. Phil is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Talbert and husband Justin, of Holly Springs, Stephanie Williams of Raleigh; his beloved granddaughters Lauren and Ella Talbert; brother Stephen Williams; sisters Cindy Gay and Kelly Godfrey, along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 3 PM at Cary Alliance Church, 4108 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
