Pauline Hoppes

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 81.
Died 10/19/2023.

Pauline (Paula) M. Hoppes, 81, a resident of Raleigh, NC, passed away on October 19, 2023, at the UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro, NC, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cleopha Heeter, her husband James Hoppes, her son Paul Holderman, her brothers Edward, Albert, William, and James Heeter, and her sister Patricia Swisher. She is survived by her four children Maria Schabdach, Dawn (James) Griffin, David (Rosa Pereira) Sharp, Dennis Holderman, her grandchildren Anthony Schabdach, Brian Griffin, Bobby Griffin, Ely Sharp, Maggie, Russell, Lucienne, and Wyatt Holderman, her great-grandchildren Connor and Law Griffin. She is also survived by her brothers George and Clifford Heeter, her sisters Henrietta Mangold, Philomenia Sanders, Dorothy Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was an avid gardener of roses and loved all animals, especially her dachshund Patty. It gave her great pleasure to feed the birds, squirrels , and rabbits around her apartment. She had the best of friends- LeeAnn Torres, Bertha Williams, Renee O'Neal, and Kelly Holcomb. A memorial mass to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27617. There will be a visitation in the church parlor one hour prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Pauline's honor to UNC Hospice by visiting their website at https://unchealth.org/care-services/locations/unc-hospice or the SPCA of Wake County at https://spcawake.org
