Obituary
Nancy Siehl Foulds

Cary, North Carolina

Age 90.
Died 1/10/2025.

Nancy Siehl Foulds, 90, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loving family on January 10, 2025. She was born in Sligo, Pennsylvania on May 25,1934, daughter of the late Clarence and Ruby Siehl. She graduated from Sligo High and received a BBA from Westminster College. She greatly enjoyed her time at Westminster living at the Thompson house with her Alpha Gamma Delta sisters Nancy bravely faced the significant changes presented to her by Alzheimer’s disease, and although her ability to communicate declined, her love of family, friends, and her companion cat, Franny, always showed through. She greatly missed her husband, Ron, when he entered his eternal rest in the spring of 2024. They had been married for 64 years. Nancy was a high school teacher in the Pittsburg area before marriage, and an adjunct professor at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland while raising her family. As an empty nester, she used her administrative skills at a position that supported the VP of Clinical Research for Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals, a job she really enjoyed and found fascinating. Although happy in the work force, Nancy considered her most important achievement to be raising her family at home for 25 years and watching them become successful loving adults with careers and families of their own. She adored all 9 of her grandchildren and lived to see two great grandchildren and the marriage of her eldest granddaughter. Nancy and Ron greatly enjoyed their involvement with Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. They were active participants in the senior VIPS group through which they volunteered in the community, especially at the local soup kitchen. They also participated in service trips, including one assisting those impacted by Hurricane Katrina. They formed many deep friendships and loved their church community. Nancy had a spirit of adventure and loved to travel. This began with a trip to Europe with a group of girlfriends before she was married. They traveled over by boat, bought a car, and visited many counties. That was bold for her time! She shared that love of travel with her husband, Ron, and together they traveled much of the world enjoying other cultures and experiences while always bringing back a much-treasured gift for each grandchild. Nancy will be remembered for her enduring friendships, delight in travel, hospitality, outstanding organization (a blessing to many), and faithful service to others for her Lord. Her children will remember her as an exceptional grandparent who always planned fun and enriching experiences to share with her grandchildren. She modeled grandparenting well for us, and we can only hope to emulate her. She will be deeply missed by her children Judy Paulson (Walt), Doug Foulds (Jodi), Kathy Foulds (Ben), and grandchildren Andy, Abby (Isaac), Kelsey, Jonathan, David (Rachel), Ava, Chloe, Natalie, Leah, and great grandchildren Emery and Yarik.
