Milwyda Lozada Chua

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 69.
Died 7/22/2023.

Milwyda Lozada Chua, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on July 22, 2023, after a three-year battle with cancer. Milwyda was born in Manila, Philippines on April 8, 1954, to Segismundo Lozada and Aurea Adiao Lozada. She was the third of five children and attended the University of Santo Tomas, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In 1979, Milwyda moved to the United States and married her boyfriend of seven years and childhood neighbor, Lorenzo. She worked as an accountant at Raleigh Federal Savings Bank before moving to Wyatt-Quarles, where she worked for almost 25 years. Milwyda, known to most as Wyda, was always thoughtful, patient, positive, and caring in her conversations with others whenever brought together at family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling to new cities and countries with her family. While at home she enjoyed watching basketball, taking care of her plants and flowers (especially orchids), and playing games with the family (especially mahjong). Milwyda was preceded in death by her parents; older sister Odette Tapay; younger brothers Danilo and Wilhelmino Lozada; brothers-in-law Godofredo Ng, Ricardo Ang, Patrick Yang and Claro Chua; sister-in-law Olym Chua; and mother-in-law Maxima Chua. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lorenzo Chua; their two children Stefanie Chua and Stephen Chua; brother Wilfredo Lozada; cousins Yel and Oyette Adiao, Butch Adiao, Ophelia and Peter Yudkof; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Philip and Farida Chua, Anita Ng, Victoria Ng Chua, Eduardo and Sylvia Chua, Vicky Ang, Mina Yang, Jose Jr and Tessie Chua, Sony and Francis Jao, Vicente & Chari Chua, Saturnino Chua, Manuel Chua, and Ricky and Arlet Chua. A Mass for the Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on August 3rd, 2023, at St. Raphael The Archangel Catholic Church located at 5801 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, North Carolina 27609.
