Obituary
Mary "Pat" Blevins Tolle

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Age 76.
Died 9/14/2024.

Mary “Pat” Blevins Tolle (3/9/1948 – 9/14/2024) Mary "Pat" Blevins Tolle, age 76, passed away on September 14th, 2024, in Orange County, NC. She was born on March 9th, 1948, in Greensboro, NC, to Richard Presley Blevins and Mary Parker Kelly Blevins. Pat attended Guilford County schools and the University of Eastern Kentucky before settling in Chapel Hill, NC. She went on to retire after a dedicated career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Known for her quick wit and strong spirit, Pat lived life on her own terms, always marching to the beat of her own drum. She enjoyed oil and watercolor painting, writing poetry, playing the piano, gardening, and traveling. Her love for animals was boundless, and she was a devoted advocate for their well-being. Above all, Pat cherished her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 29 years, Jon Tolle; her children, Maria Morton Bunch (Tony) and Jon Morton (Betsy); her grandchildren, April Riggs Scharfenberg (Andrew), Mary Isabelle Bunch (Alek), Jack Morton, and Hannah Morton; her stepchildren, Cecily Tripp (Bill), Michael Tolle (Soul), Jennifer Biesak, and Lexi Riek (Matt); as well as six step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her siblings, Judy Rainey (Thomas), Richard Blevins (Barbara), and Robert Blevins (Janice). Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A private celebration of her life will be held by family at a later date. Charitable donations in her honor may be made to Saving Grace (https://savinggracenc.org/); Goathouse Refugee (https://www.goathouserefuge.org/), or an animal sanctuary of your choice.
