Mary Lane Davis Mallory, 78, died on June 28, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. Her family and friends have great comfort knowing she is now in the embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They wed on February 24,1973 and were happily married for 51 years. Mary Lane became a stay at home mom to two sons, Revill Ramsey Mallory of Raleigh and David McArthur Mallory of Wake Forest, NC. When her sons were older she returned to the workforce and held a number of administrative and retail positions until she fully retired in 2012. Mary Lane was a faithful church member throughout her life, most recently at HOPE Church Raleigh. Over the years Mary Lane taught Sunday School, served as a youth advisor with her husband, and was a co-chairwoman of a circle group. She also was an active member of the Northclift Home and Garden Club for many years. She served in many capacities including club president. Mary Lane will be remembered for her great sense of humor and compassion for others. She dearly loved her two grandchildren, Caroline Taylor Mallory and Claire Morgan Mallory of Wake Forest. Mary Lane felt blessed to have them live close by and enjoyed spending time and making many memories with them. Mary Lane was fond of traveling and reading. She loved the ocean and always looked forward to family beach week over many summers at Atlantic Beach, NC. She also very much enjoyed visiting Ocracoke Island. Mary Lane was predeceased by her brother, David Ramsey Davis Jr. and wife Betty Sue of Williamston, sister Betsy Davis Clayton of Greenville, NC, and brother-in-law Roswell Theodore Mallory Jr. of Charlotte. The family would particularly like to thank their church family at HOPE Church Raleigh for the many years of love, support, and prayers as well as the staff at SECU Hospice House for the exceptional care they provided to Mary Lane in her final days. There will be a 3:00 PM memorial service on July 7, 2024 at HOPE Church Raleigh, 4911 Green Road, Raleigh NC 27616 preceded by a 2:00 PM visitation.
