Obituary
Marlene Watson

Spring Hope, North Carolina

Age 65.
Died 7/19/2025.

Marlene Murray Watson April 27, 1960 – July 19, 2025 Marlene Murray Watson, 65, of Spring Hope, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025. Born on April 27, 1960, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Marlene lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep love for her family, and a passion for the simple joys of life. She built a successful career in accounting, where her dedication and integrity earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Marlene found happiness in the little things—curling up with a good book, traveling when she could, enjoying her favorite seafood dishes, and spending time fishing whenever the opportunity arose. She especially loved cheering on her sons—whether it was watching Justin play football and golf or watching Matthew on the baseball field, always with a pack of sunflower seeds in hand. She was also deeply proud of Christopher’s service in the United States Marine Corps. Marlene had a deep love for animals and always had a soft spot for the pets who became part of the family over the years. She was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees, the South Carolina Gamecocks, and NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. She also loved classic Westerns, never passing up the chance to watch a John Wayne film, and enjoyed great horror movies. Marlene was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three beloved sons: Justin Williams and his partner, Rebecca Blouse, of Louisburg; Christopher Watson and his partner, Courtney Wood, of Youngsville; and Matthew Watson; and grandchildren, Levi Watson and Emily Watson, who will carry forward her memory with pride and love.
