Marjorie Overman

Marjorie Overman was born on September 13, 1927, in Red Oak, NC, to Anne Elizabeth Coley Conway and her husband, Sterling. She passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in Wake Forest, NC. She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Harry Overman; her mother, Annie Conway; and her sister, Magdalene Boone. She is survived by her two children, Pat Overman Snyder and Robin Overman Langston; three grandchildren, Paige Snyder Telep, John David Snyder, and Ashley Langston Hall; six great-grandchildren, Michael Telep, Jason Telep, Nathan Snyder, Evan Snyder, Brennan Hall, and Dawson Hall; and her brother, Bobby Conway. Those whose lives Marjorie touched will remember her fashionable, sparkly attire; wide, easy smile; twinkling eyes; and a creative quip that was guaranteed to make anyone’s day better. She was a Southern woman through and through, who believed good food should be as crispy as possible and only edible after being fully coated in hot sauce and black pepper. The one exception to this rule was her precious coffee, which needed to flow freely all day and be just one degree shy of boiling. A woman on the move well into her 90s, she was surprisingly confident behind the wheel, cruising comfortably around her hometown of Rocky Mount while bouncing between visits with family, friends, church, and good barbecue. She cherished her Benvenue Baptist Church family, and they adored her right back. She also held especially close her relationship with her nephew, Ronnie Boone, who was always there for her.
