Marjorie Jackson Wiggins

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 88.
Died 12/26/2023.

Marjorie Love Jackson Wiggins, 88, of Raleigh, passed away December 26, 2023 after a long illness surrounded by her family. She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina on August 12, 1935 to Jasper Dempsey Jackson and Florrie Elizabeth Marshburn Jackson. A graduate and lifelong supporter of Meredith College, Marjorie lived her whole life in North Carolina - Raleigh, Cary, Kinston, Andrews, and Wilkesboro - settling back in Raleigh over the last 3 years. She served as Executive Officer of the Wilkes County Homebuilders Association and was a successful real estate broker and property manager. She and husband Talmadge enjoyed western square dancing, storytelling events, spending time at the "Little House" on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and were avid NC State fans and football season ticket holders for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers James Wright (Elsie), Robert (Dale), Jackie (Anna), and Gene Jackson, as well as cherished nephews Glenn Wright Jackson and Don Jackson, and son-in-law Eddie Taylor. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Talmadge Wiggins of the home, a daughter, Lisa Wiggins Taylor, and a son, Bryan Wiggins (Annette) both of Raleigh, and a granddaughter, Sarah Wiggins, of Stockholm, Sweden. She is also survived by her brother, William Blake Jackson (Debbie) of Spivey's Corner, sister-in-law Zelle Jackson of Oak Island, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 December 30, 2023 at Magnolia Glen Assisted Living (5301 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC). The family will receive friends at 1PM on January 6, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in North Wilkesboro, NC with funeral services following at 2:30. Memorials can be made to Meredith College (meredith.edu/giving) or First United Methodist Church Emergency Fund (PO Box 1145, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659-1145 or (firstnw.org). Our family offers our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Magnolia Glen, Transitions Lifecare, and our care team of Maggie White, Sai Gaye, Paola Mejia, Laurel Stritzel, Amid Set Sillah, and Rakey Manneh for your loving care.
