Marilyn Warner McLean

Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina

Age 74.
Died 8/16/2023.

Marilyn Warner McLean, 74, of Fuquay-Varina, NC flew to Jesus on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She bravely lived with cancer for the last 4 years of her precious life, spreading the light of Jesus to all those she encountered. She continued to serve God until her last breath. From all of her church activities (too numerous to mention) to her community presence, Marilyn was a blessing to this world. She was recognized with a Lifetime Spiritual Service Award from her beloved Wake Chapel Christian Church. Marilyn was born in Washington, DC to George and Jane Warner on 8/3/1949. Graduate of Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC in 1967. She worked for many years at IBM with retirement spent part-time at Wee Care Day Care, NC State Fair, and serving her church and others. Marilyn also known as Aunt Mernie, Mearl, and Petey, was preceded in death by her parents George and Jane Warner. She is survived by her precious long-time life partner Larry Wilkins, brother Steve Warner, sister Cathy Galbreth, and husband Eric, James and Jennifer Wilkins (Maggie and Sam), nephews Nick Warner and Will Galbreth, niece Katie Rakestraw, their spouses, 4 great nieces, 1 great nephew. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Awanas Youth Program c/o Wake Chapel Christian Church. "Miss Marilyn we saw Jesus in you". Many thanks to her medical team of Dr. Graham, Susan Blumenthal, PA, Dr. Calvo, and all the nurses at Wake Med Cary hoping her journey helps others with cholangiocarcinoma and finding a cure. The funeral will be on 8/26/23 at 2:00pm, Wake Chapel Christian Church 905 Wake Chapel Rd Fuquay-Varina, NC with visitation and refreshments for family and church family to follow at the Family Life Center.
