Obituary
Marie Dupree Crump

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 85.
Died 12/18/2025.

With immense sadness, my brothers and I, along with our families, are mourning the passing of our sweet Mother, Marie Dupree Crump. Our hearts are broken with this loss. Marie was a joy to everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by our wonderful Father, William S Crump (Bill) and our one consolation is that they are now together and she has all of her memories back. Marie spent her life serving others. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer, a Sunday school teacher, a member (often leader) of the women’s group and a friend to everyone she met at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church in Wilmington, NC, where Bill and Marie raised their children and lived most of their marriage. Marie was an incredible cook and her house was always full of friends stopping by to visit. Every Christmas morning she hosted her family and any friend that wanted to join for a huge breakfast she prepared. As a mother, she was beyond compare, always loving and never judging or condemning, instead unfaltering love and commitment. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Carlton Frederick Dupree and Mary Magdalene Dupree, along with her sister, Eva Puryear and her brother, Glenn Dupree; and survived by her Bothers Claude Dupree (Sandra), Jimmy Dupree (Judy) and Pastor, David Dupree (Brenda). She is also survived by her children, Mary Crump Walsh and husband Dewey, William Stephen (Steve) Crump Jr. and wife Joyce , Edward Carlton (Colton) Crump and nine grandchildren: Lauren Walsh, Julia Walsh, Nicholas Walsh, Brandon Crump, Brianna Crump, Joshua Crump, Sydney Crump, Hayden Crump, Ashley Crump and one great grandchild, Brooklyn Crump.
