Obituary
Margot Ambrose

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 88.
Died 1/19/2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Margot Anna Maria Schrody Ambrose, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home in Wake Forest NC. She was born April 10, 1936 in Mannheim Germany to the late Heinrich and Franziska Bachinger Schrody. Margot was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene Ambrose, Sr. Together they built a family rooted in kindness, resilience and care. Margot was known for her special way of connecting with people, gift for expressing genuine appreciation, and love of talking to and taking care of everyone. As a gifted cook, she found happiness in creating meals that nourished both body and soul, leaving behind recipes and many memories that will be treasured. Her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends especially during holidays. Surviving are her two sons, Gene T. Ambrose, Jr. and wife, Wanda, Stan Ambrose and wife, Cindy; three grandchildren, Zachary and Brandon Ambrose, and Jennifer Grigg; six great grandchildren Laurel, Clara, Alice and Daphne Ambrose, Joelle and Julianne Grigg; one brother, Klaus Schrody, and two sisters, Gabriella Weinert and Karin Meyer. Her family would like to thank Terry Cameron, Transitions HospiceCare of Wake County, Maria and Richard Matthew’s, Dr. Peter Chan of WakeMed Cardiology, the physical therapy team at Holiday Gardens, and Anita’s Private Home Care for their compassionate support during her final days. A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville, with Dr. Russ Ambrose officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life.
