Obituary
Marcia Lynn Gay

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 59.
Died 5/1/2023.

Marcia Lynn Gay, 59, passed away peacefully on May 1 surrounded by her family. Marcia was born in Michigan, grew up in Rochester, NY and lived in Raleigh for more than 35 years. Marcia was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her daughters were the light of her life. She loved all things Disney -- and one of her favorite past times was sharing photos of her many Disney adventures, especially trips with her daughters. She also gave the best hugs that filled everyone with extraordinary warmth and joy long after the hug was over. She used her love of words and arts and crafts to inspire many who knew her. If she wasn't baking the world's best chocolate chip cookies, you could find her working on her latest art creation. In addition to her creative side was a strong passion for football. Whether watching in the stadium or on TV, she was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks and San Francisco 49ers fan. Marcia also was a proud graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where she earned a B.S. in computer science. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Aaron. She is survived by her parents: Robert and Norma Snyder of Rochester; her daughters: Sierra Gay and Jaime Gay; sister, Sandy Clark; and nieces: Emily Mooney (Brian) and Abbey Modeen. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at Soapstone United Methodist Church, 12837 Norwood Rd, Raleigh, NC, followed by a Memorial service at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Make A Wish, at wish.org., and we encourage you to give big, warm hugs to honor her life.

For additional information or for service details, please reach out to the family directly.
