Obituary
Lyle Eugene Jones

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 80.
Died 4/14/2022.

Lyle Eugene Jones, 80, passed away peacefully with his family at Transitions Lifecare Hospice on April 14, 2022, located in Raleigh, NC. Lyle was born to Lyle Edgar Jones and Evelyn Grace (Hobbs) Jones on May 31, 1941 at their home in Lewistown, PA. He was the second born of five children and survived by his brother Neil Arden Jones of Saegertown, PA, his twin Lee Earl Jones of Boone, NC, his sister, Kay Elaine (Jones) Nageotte of Meadville, PA and brother, Gary Lenard of Punta Gorda, FL. Lyle is survived by his former wife Norma (Messer) Jones and their three sons, Scott Edward Jones of Erie, PA, Darren William Jones of Wilson, NC, and David Allen Jones of Raleigh, NC. He has two daughters-in-law, Julie Jones and Laura Jones, and seven grandchildren, Justin, Samantha, Allison, AJ, Luke, Brady, Preston and two great grandchildren: Selah and Nathanael. Lyle graduated from Meadville Area High School in Meadville, PA in 1960 and then went on to serve in the Army from 1961 to 1963; first in Fort Devens, MA, then in Coranado, CA for language school where he learned Taiwanese. He then was deployed to Taipei, Taiwan to work in communications with the Army. After the Army, Lyle lived in Lynn, MA where he met his wife and married. He worked as a tool and die maker then moved to Connecticut and back to Meadville to start his business as a photographer, where he was best know for Photography by Lyle. Lyle was loved by his Meadville community for his stunning photography. Lyle in his later years moved to Raleigh, NC to be with his son, David and wife, Laura and their two children, Brady and Preston. He then began his love for woodworking and had a woodworking shop where he built beautiful creations for his family to treasure. Lyle enjoyed being with his family, photography, and woodworking. His last request was to tell his family he loved them. Lyle then went peacefully to heaven to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Lyle’s life will be held on May 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the home of his son, David Jones and family with Pastor Stu Boehim officiating the Celebration. The family will greet visitors and invite them all for a meal after the celebration. Please bring your favorite picture of Lyle, or a picture taken by Lyle, and memories to share with our family and friends.
