Juli Keller McKinney

Apex, North Carolina

Age 52.
Died 2/3/2023.

Juli Keller McKinney of Apex, NC passed away after a brief illness on February 3, 2023. Juli was born on May 7, 1970, in Alexandria, VA. She attended St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA from kindergarten through high school. She then attended the University of Georgia where she double majored in Journalism and Child and Family Development. She was a four-year member of Sigma Kappa sorority, serving as President during her sophomore year. After graduation she started an internship with The Nashville Network, later working full time for TNN for a couple years before moving to Dallas, TX where she met her husband, Michael. Shortly after marrying the couple moved to the Raleigh, NC area where they would remain eventually settling in Apex, NC. Juli transitioned into human resources holding HRCI-PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. Juli worked for several companies over the years before finding her work home at SoftwareONE in 2018 where she thrived, most recently serving as a Sr. HR Business Partner. Juli was an avid reader, animal lover, loved the beach, and enjoyed traveling. She was a long-time member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Apex, NC. She and daughter Sarah were volunteers for the Wake County SPCA for the last eight years. She was also a volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation and volunteered for numerous other service/community projects through church and work. Juli is survived by her husband Michael and daughter Sarah. Juli was predeceased by her father James Wellensiek Keller. She is survived by her mother Deborah Thatcher Keller of Cary, NC, sister Jacquelyn L. Keller of York, PA, her husband Ozzie, and son AJ, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by in-laws Farrell and Brenda McKinney of Statesville, NC, sister-in-law Suzanne McKinney Lowder of Advance, NC, her husband Mark and three sons Bryant, Andrew, and Collin, and brother-in-law Matt McKinney of Charlottesville, NC, his wife Ohk Soon, and their son Matthew. A memorial service for Juli will be held on Saturday February 18th at 11:00 A.M. at Resurrection Lutheran Church 100 W. Lochmere Drive, Cary, NC 27518.
