Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 69.
Died 6/5/2022.

Joseph Sobsey, Beloved Son, Partner, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend has Died Joseph Denton Sobsey, 69, of Raleigh, NC passed away on June 5th, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Joe passed while being wonderfully cared for by the loving, compassionate staff at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC. Joe was a long-time resident of Raleigh, NC. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him, particularly his Mother Cora Deuser, Raleigh, his partner Paul Spiegler, Raleigh, his brother David Sobsey and wife Julie, Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Stepbrothers Jay Deuser and his wife Mary Kay, Raleigh and Mark Deuser, and his partner Colleen Crowder Gaithersburg., MD. Joe was predeceased by his father Saul Sobsey, Kingston, NY, and his stepfather Tom Deuser, Raleigh. Joe will also be greatly missed by his nephew Zachary, niece Alexa, and many loving cousins and friends. Joe had many interests and passions in his life, perhaps none greater than assisting with his care by learning all that he could about the HIV Virus and Parkinson’s Disease. He was an avid reader and loved to share and talk about the things he found particularly interesting and exciting. Everyone who knew and spent time with Joe learned from him. There will be a service celebrating Joe’s life Wednesday June 8th, 3:30, at Asbury Church, 6612 Creedmoor Rd. Raleigh, NC. All are welcome to attend. The family will share refreshments at the church after the service.
