John Wyckoff Peck

Cary, North Carolina

Age 72.
Died 3/10/2025.

John Wyckoff Peck passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in loving care of his family. He was born in Great Barrington, MA and was the son of the late Edward C. Peck, Sr. (Jane) and the late Sally Wyckoff Winne (Clyde). John was the beloved husband of Janet Jean (Houseknecht) Peck. Father of Christopher J. Osborne, step-father of Lewis (Elyse) Jean, Kristie (Aaron) Boyer, Danielle Jean; brother of Catherine (Gary) Strothenke, the late Edward Peck and Robert Peck; half-brother of Richard Peck and George Peck; cherished grandfather of Jonah, Nollan, Marec, Peyton, Brennan, Odessa, Hank, Alicia and great-grandson Matty. Also survived by his stepmother, Janie Peck, sister-in-law Donna (Ed) Peck, brother-in-law Tom (Anne) Houseknecht, Neal (Nancy) Houseknecht; and fourteen nieces and nephews, a large extended family and many dear friends. John and his wife Jan were transferred from Flowserve (former Anchor/Darling Valve) in Williamsport, PA to North Carolina in 2002 where they retired in 2019. John loved traveling to PA, upstate NY and Pensacola, FL to visit family and travel the world with his beloved wife and best friend, Jan, and family and dear friends. He was a loyal Richard Petty, San Francisco Giants and Penn State fan. John truly enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sports and activities and cherished being their “Pop John”! A celebration of life will be held in the future in Williamsport, PA at the convenience of family and friends. A private service will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hughesville, PA. John fought a long and courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In lieu of flowers, John requested donations to the American Cancer Society and if possible, you donate red blood or platelets to your local blood bank and register for the National Bone Marrow bank.
