Obituary
John Feeney

Clayton, North Carolina

Age 82.
Died 6/19/2023.

John Patrick Feeney October 16, 1940 - June 19, 2023 John Feeney, 82, of Clayton, NC passed away on Monday June 19th, 2023 to be with his beloved wife Bea who he had lost just a few months back. John was born on October 16th, 1940 in Clydebank Scotland and then immigrated to the US when he was 10. John was a man of his faith, and dedicated much of his time to his church. John had tremendous work ethic and worked hard to support his family. You could find him enjoying a pint with friends and strangers, traveling the world with his wife and vacations with his son’s family; to Emerald Isle, his hometown in Ireland, and enjoying bonfires while spotting shooting stars with his grandchildren. John was a veteran and served in the US army during his youth before meeting the love of his life Bea Feeney, who he was married to for over 50 years. They settled down to begin their family in Avenel, New Jersey, where they built many friendships, became avid bowlers and enjoyed pizza with friends at Strawberry pub. John enjoyed cheering on his son throughout his soccer days into college and following his favorite sports teams Notre Damn, SF Giants, NY Giants & Celtic FC. In retirement John and Bea moved to Clayton, NC in 2003 where he spent his time building new friendships.
John is survived by his son Shawn and daughter-in-law Brianna who live in Colorado with his grandchildren Havyn & Ryder. His brother Bill Feeney & wife Charolette Feeney who live in California. As well as Bryan Young, a neighbor turned family and best friend, all of who will miss him. He is not only now with his beloved wife who passed in March but is predeceased by his sister Sally and her husband Jack O-Reilly. The family would like to thank local friends, who visited and supported him through this trying time. You could always find John enjoying a cold pint, meeting new people and reliving the stories of his past. Wherever he went, he made an impression, always enjoyed good conversation, a bit of fun sarcasm and carried his friendships close.
