Obituary
Jerry Clark Meadows

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 81.
Died 10/30/2024.

Jerry Clark Meadows “Pa”, a resident of Louisburg, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on August 13, 1943, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Jerry was the beloved son of the late James Ernest Meadows Sr. and Agnes Mizzel Meadows. In life, Jerry exemplified the qualities of kindness, love, and generosity. A man of deep faith, Jerry was a devout Christian and found comfort in his Christian beliefs, which guided him throughout his life's journey. He cherished every moment with his family, friends, and community, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. After meeting at East Carolina University, Jerry and Sandra got married and spent 56 years together. Throughout his life, Jerry had many hobbies including woodworking and fishing. Jerry owned and ran a grocery store in Hopewell, Virginia- S&N Supermarket which also turned into a catering business. Once he and Sandra moved down to Buxton, North Carolina, he started a Repair & Maintenance company called RAM Inc. While living at the beach, Jerry spent many hours fishing with his friends, and family, making sure he taught everyone how to catch the first and biggest fish! Jerry was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Sandra Hazlett Meadows, who was the love of his life and biggest supporter; his parents, James and Agnes Meadows; five sisters- Jean, Sue, Glenda, Patty and Betty Ann; two brothers- Garland and James Ernest Jr.; and a former daughter-in-law whom he loved like his own, Karen Lynn Rainey. He is survived by his loving children, John Clark Meadows and Jody Catherine Meadows; a former daughter-in-law, Amy Parsons Meadows, whom he also loved and considered his own; four grandchildren, Jilian Meadows Allen (Dustin), Addison Paige Meadows, Jordan Cyrus Meadows and Mallory Grace Meadows; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Thomas Allen and Avery Lynn Allen, along with many close family and friends. His family was the center of his world, and he devoted himself to their well-being with open arms and an open heart. The family of Jerry Meadows invites friends and loved ones to a funeral service celebrating his life on Friday, November 15, at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, located at 4879 NC-56, Castalia, NC 27816, beginning at 11:00 in the morning. Family will accept visitors as early as 10:00. In remembering Jerry, we take solace in the words of John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". Through his faith and his unwavering love for others, Jerry's spirit and memory will live on eternally in the hearts of those he touched.
