Obituary
Jean Marie "Jeanie" Vinecourt

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 74.
Died 2/19/2025.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Marie Vinecourt, lovingly known as Jeanie, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, animal lover, and cherished friend. She passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. Born in Cleveland, Jeanie had a lifelong passion for animals and was happiest in the company of her beloved pets. She cared deeply for them, showering them with love as she did everyone in her life. She leaves behind her cherished cockatoo, Persia; her Italian Greyhound, Yvette; and her beloved horses, Zula, Cinnamon, and Gypsy. A true food enthusiast, Jeanie believed that every day was an opportunity for a good meal. Going out to lunch was one of her favorite pastimes-she had her go-to restaurants and favorite dishes, always savoring the experience. A proud vegan for most of her life, she found joy in cooking and sharing meals with her loved ones, always leading with her deep compassion for animals. Above all, Jeanie was a devoted wife to James (Jim) McPherson, a loving mother to her two daughters, Tiffanie Anne Miller Taylor (Darren) and Audra Diane Kemp (Dave), and her stepdaughter, Rachel McPherson (Paul Ward). She was a proud grandmother to her five grandchildren-two grandsons, Ethan and Garret; two granddaughters, Savannah and Isla; and her step-granddaughter, Ella. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary L. Miller, in 2008, and was blessed to find love again, embracing this new chapter of her life with joy and gratitude. She is survived by her husband, Jim McPherson; her daughters, Tiffanie and Audra; her stepdaughter, Rachel; her five beloved grandchildren; her sister, Gloria (Erich) Kroeger; and a close circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly. Jeanie's kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured. Jeanie will be laid to rest in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jeanie's name to one of the following charities, honoring her lifelong love for animals and advocacy: The V Foundation for Cancer Research - www.v.org The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee - www.elephants.com The Doris Day Animal League - www.humaneaction.org/Doris-Day-Animal-League People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - www.support.peta.org Though Jeanie may be gone from our sight, she will never be absent from our hearts or memories.
