Obituary
James Eric Robertson

Rocky Mount, North Carolina

Age 41.
Died 5/25/2025.

James Eric Robertson, 41, of Rocky Mount, NC passed away on May 25, 2025. To those who knew him best, he was Eric - a son, a father, a brother, and a friend with a tender heart and a quiet strength that stayed with him through the hardest parts of life. Eric was born on February 4, 1984 to James Earl Robertson, Jr. and Debbie Mears Robertson. From the time he was little, Eric had a soft spot for anything hurting or broken. He brought home stray animals, lost souls, and anyone he thought needed a little help. He didn't always know how to save them, but he tried. That deep compassion stayed with him into adulthood. Even when he was struggling, he still saw the good in other people and wanted to be part of something better. More than anything, Eric loved his son Logan. Being a father wasn't always easy, but his love for Logan was never in question. He wanted his sone to grow up strong, kind, and confident; a young man who could lead with his heart, chase his potential, and live a better story than the one Eric often struggled with. Logan is all of those things and more: a dedicated student, a talented baseball player, quick to laugh, and full of compassion. Eric was proud of him every single day. Eric knew Jesus. He held tight to his faith, especially in the moments that tested him most. One verse that speaks to the heart of who he was and what he believed is 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." Eric never stopped hoping for a new beginning. He is survived by his son, Logan Bennett Robertson of Rocky Mount, NC; his parents, James Earl Robertson, Jr. and Debbie Mears Robertson of Rocky Mount, NC; his sisters and their families, Ashley Robertson Sisk, Jeremy Gene Sisk, Felicity Morgan Sisk, and James Thomas Sisk of Wake Forest, NC; and Jamie Leigh Robertson and Charlotte Jane Williams of Nashville, NC. Eric will be remembered for his kind soul, sense of humor, and for how he kept showing up for the people he loved. His life was complicated, but it mattered deeply. He will be missed more than words can say. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Nashville Methodist Church in Braswell Hall. The family will receive friends following the service.
