Obituary
Irene Bradette Rioux

Franklinton, North Carolina

Age 88.
Died 12/10/2024.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Irene Rioux, a loving wife and mother of 5 children, peacefully passed away at the age of 88. She resided in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Irene was a French Canadian born on November 22, 1937, in the lovely town of Notre-Dame-De Lourdes, Quebec, Canada. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She immigrated to Florida in 1975 with her husband and progeny, and they successfully established a new home for her family in a new country. After much persistence and patience, she overcame the language barrier and assisted her husband, Roland, in his business ventures as a bookkeeper. In addition, she was an expert homemaker, maintaining an immaculate home and cooking delicious meals for everyone. She always put God and family first in all her relationships, in harmony with her husband, and instilled a strong work ethic and family values in her children and grandchildren. She excelled at gardening and had an amazing green thumb, delighting family and visitors year-round with her bountiful plants and flowers. She enjoyed traveling the US and abroad, dancing with her Husband, and playing board games or word puzzles. She was known for her quiet and unassuming presence, always smiling and bringing an upbeat, quick sense of humor to the conversation. Irene was reliably the first to lend a helping hand, inspiring those around her with her strength of character, grounded in her faith. These qualities remained even after long suffering from dementia. She was most thankful to her caretakers and never lost her good attitude and sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend of 62 years Roland; their Children: Gaetan (Donna) Rioux of Hendersonville, TN, Anne Beall (Norman Caron) of Wake Forest, NC, Daniel Rioux of Raiford, FL; Francois Rioux of West Palm Beach, FL; and Alain (Nancy) Rioux of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren: Jean-Luc, Erica, Alexine, Brooke, Jake, Emma, Jayme, Sebastian, and Madison; greatgrandchildren: Abigail, Fletcher, Bellamy, and Aurora; siblings: Madelaine, Denise, Rolande, Claire, Michele and Nicole, Canada. A funeral mass will be celebrated in her memory at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 18, at St. Catherine of Siena in Wake Forest, NC. Donations may be made to Franciscan missionaries in memory of Irene. https://give.franciscanmissions.org/single-donation?utm_source=Google%20P-Max&utm_medium=Paid&utm_campaign=P-Max%20-%20General%20Brand%20Awareness&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA34S7BhAtEiwACZzv4Ue3aqH7w5oNGLRgnb2eR2IGewYeYRUosM3hExzafX5pZD-BnsT_4RoCPzMQAvD_BwE
