Graylyn Chris Doyle

Graylyn Chris Doyle, age 76 passed away on Feb 10, 2024 He was born on February 17, 1947 to the late Grady B. Doyle and Grace Youch Doyle. He is survived by his wife, Pamela R. Doyle, son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Emily Hester along with his precious granddaughter, Olivia Leigh Hester, He is also survived by his daughter, Meredith Doyle. In addition to his parents, Graylyn was preceded in death by his brother, Grady M. Doyle and his sister, Amelia D. Minton. Graylyn served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He spent his time aboard USS Franklin D. Roosevelt 42 until he was stationed in Keflivzk, Iceland. After his Navy tour, he attended Atlantic Christian College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He also attended Chowan College, where he played football and baseball. Graylyn was a licensed North Carolina General Contractor and earned his Real Estate Broker's License. He was instrumental in overseeing the building of many beautiful homes that he was recognized during the annual Parade of Homes for design ideas. Graylyn was a loving father and devoted husband. He never met a stranger and to call him friend meant you were blessed beyond measure. Graylyn’s favorite past time was spent at Myrtle Beach riding his Harley and fellowshipping with family and friends. Many may not know he won awards for shagging to beach music while at Myrtle Beach. Graylyn will be missed immensely by his family and friends. He attended Calvary Baptist Church, whenever his health allowed him. Memorial service will be Saturday Feb 17 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church 677 Antioch Church Rd, Timberlake, NC 27583. After the service family will receive visitors at their home. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care, 2975 Crouse Lane, Burlington, NC 27215.
