SUNRISE SUNSET November 24,1922 February 20,2024 Gloria Celestine Skidmore, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 20, 2024 at the beautiful age of 101 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Eva Villavaso Celestine, her brothers, Wilfred (Toon), Herman (Putt), and Marques Celestine, her loving husband Anthony Skidmore, and two sons, Vince and Sherrold Skidmore. Being a military wife increased her desire to travel. After she raised her children, she pursued her dream and traveled to many countries. Gloria was a kind, loving, generous, supportive mother and friend. Everyone affectionately called her YaYa. If you had a problem, you could always talk to YaYa. She would always listen and you knew she had your back. Her loving personality and her Southern hospitality was always there. If you visited her home, she was always ready to serve you dinner or at least a piece of cake. She is survived by her three siblings, Shirley, Vernell (Irene) Celestine, JoAnn (Paul) Berzat. Five of her seven children Anthony (Jackie) Winston (Cynthia) Darrell (Lennie) Patsy and Judy, seven grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, relatives and friends. A gravesite service and internment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans, LA on March 20th, 2024 at 10am. MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE
