Obituary
George “Mike” Robbins

Franklinton, North Carolina

Age 68.
Died 4/10/2025.

George “Mike” Robbins Beloved Pops, Dad, Husband, Brother, Son, Friend, and Builder October 13, 1956 – April 10, 2025 If you needed help, Mike Robbins was the guy who would drop everything without hesitation and show up with exactly the right tools for the job. Whether fixing a leaky faucet, framing a house, or just lightening the mood, he brought quiet strength, a willing spirit, and a sense of humor that made any space feel lighter. He lived with humility, care, and a deep love for his family, friends, and the people he served through his work. A trusted builder and carpenter across Wake, Granville, and Franklin Counties, Mike was known for putting his personal touch into every job and took great pride in his work. His clients knew they were in good hands from day one, more often than not, they became friends before the job was done. Mike never met a stranger, as he had a way of connecting with everyone he encountered, usually through a well-timed story, a laugh. Whether it was a neighbor, a client, or someone behind him in line at the hardware store, Mike found common ground and left people better than he found them. Mike was preceded in death by his father, James David Robbins Sr., his older brother, James “Jim” David Robbins Jr., and his brother-in-law, Brian Wilkinson, who have no doubt welcomed him with open arms. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Wilkinson Robbins, who stood by his side through every project and every phase of life. He also leaves behind three sons: Michael (Christina), Joshua (Kaitlyn), and Ethan, each carrying on his legacy of hard work, humor, and generosity. Mike is also survived by his mother, Doris Respess Robbins, who he shares his quick wit with, and his brothers Dan and Jack. And then there are his grandchildren, Charlotte, Jadon, and Kharis, his greatest joy and best excuse for always having a sweet treat on hand. He adored them endlessly and took every chance to show off their latest photos to anyone who’d look, whether you asked or not. He had a picture (or ten) ready to go, usually with a proud grin and a story to match. Mike didn’t need a spotlight. He just needed a job done right, and people he loved to share it with. Though he may be gone from our daily routines, the foundation he laid will carry on through the many lives he touched. Now, after a lifetime of building here on earth, he’s finally met the first Carpenter, Jesus, face to face. His legacy isn’t just in the structures he built, but in the character he modeled, the burdens he lifted, and the joy he brought with him wherever he went. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stand Up To Cancer. Mike had been standing up to cancer since September of 2021, and true to his nature, he faced it with strength, determination, and his trademark sense of humor. Supporting this cause is a meaningful way to honor his fight and the fight of others.
