Obituary
Gayle Clark

Louisburg, Pennsylvania

Age 79.
Died 10/16/2025.

Gayle (Joyce) Kuhn Clark, 79, of Louisburg NC, walked through Heaven’s gate on October 16, 2025. She was born January 7, 1946 in Mount Pleasant PA, the daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Bair) Kuhn. She graduated from Ramsay High School in 1964 where she was a theatre performer & head majorette. Gayle, as the office manager, and her late husband Dr. Robert J. Clark took care of generations of families at Clark Chiropractic Clinic in Mt. Pleasant. Gayle earned her B.S. in Psychology from University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and her Masters of Social Work from University of Pittsburgh. This launched her career as a private therapist as well as serving as adjunct faculty at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and NC State University for several years. Gayle was a faithful member of Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest, NC, and prior to moving to NC was a member of Charter Oak Methodist Church in Greensburg, PA. At Richland Creek she was an active participant of the Naomi’s Sisters and Ladies Life groups. Throughout her life, Gayle was a horse enthusiast and enjoyed riding as often as she could, including week-long riding at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ. She had a love for going to the movies, especially for the popcorn. Gayle had a flair for 2D art and enjoyed working with charcoal and acrylics. Camping in their many different travel trailers (more like Glamping) was a passion of Gayle and Bob where family was often included. In their retirement, their favorite locations to spend weeks on end from spring through the fall months were in Pigeon Forge, TN and Myrtle Beach, SC. Since Disney World’s inception, Gayle frequently traveled with family to Disney, and loved collecting her Mickey Ears. Disney was a lifelong cherished travel location that she passed on to her children and their families. She devoted her life to her family and enjoyed being part of all the special occasions, sporting events, theatre performances, and recitals for her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert John Clark, Jr. and a beloved aunt Dorothy (Bair) Shaw Piekarski (husband Robert). She is survived by her two children Hollylynne Stohl Lee and Robert James Clark and their spouses, son-in-law J. Todd Lee and daughter-in-law Melissa d. Clark; four grandchildren Delta and Jonah Lee, Siena and Gabriella Clark; her brother Christopher King, sister-in-law Rebecca Clark, first husband William P. Stohl, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends from NC, VA and PA. A memorial service will be held at Richland Creek Community Church, 3229 Burlington Mills Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587 on Saturday November 29, 2025 at 2pm, with visitation beginning at 1pm.
