Eric T Ehlers

Holly Springs, NC – Eric Theodore Ehlers, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and accomplished mechanical engineer, passed away peacefully in Holly Springs, North Carolina, at the age of 86. Born in Miami, Florida, in 1939, Eric was the beloved son of the late Erich Ehlers and Kunigunda Ehlers (Dressel). Eric leaves behind a loving family, having shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Suzanne Ehlers. He was a dedicated father to his two sons, Eric Ehlers and Ryan Ehlers, and a proud grandfather to Alana Ehlers, Eric T. Ehlers, and Cole Ehlers. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jenifer Ehlers, several remaining cousins in Germany, and his constant companion, his beloved dog, Charlotte. Eric will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and a legacy of dedication to his professional pursuits. Having lived as a Type 1 diabetic for most of his life, he was a strong advocate for diabetic care, tirelessly working to support and raise awareness within the community. A proud and passionate graduate of the University of Miami, Eric built a distinguished career as a Mechanical Engineer. His expertise and dedication led him to work for several prestigious organizations, including the Pentagon, NASA, Eastern Airlines, and IBM. He maintained a lifelong passion for mathematics, computers, and all aspects of aeronautics.
