Obituary
Eileen Catherine Cenfetelli

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 85.
Died 9/1/2025.

Eileen Catherine Cenfetelli, 85, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 13, 1939, in Erie, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Ludwig Heberlein and Hildegard Theresa Heberlein. A 1957 graduate of St. Benedict Academy in Erie, Eileen dedicated her life to her family as a loving and devoted homemaker. She and her husband, Bob, raised their children in Endicott, New York, where they lived for nearly 30 years before moving to Raleigh in 1990. Eileen and Bob shared over 66 years of marriage—a true testament to enduring love and partnership. Eileen found deep joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed bowling, playing mahjongg and bridge, and hosting luncheons with her cherished circle of friends. She loved gardening, watching the birds in her backyard—especially bluebirds—cooking for her family, working on puzzles, and enjoying Hallmark movies. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Her quiet strength, compassion, and gentle presence left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. Eileen is survived by her husband, Anthony Robert Cenfetelli Sr., and their four children: Anthony Robert Cenfetelli Jr., Catherine Anne Higgins (Timothy), David Allan Cenfetelli and Karen Marie Campbell. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Lindsay Bonacci (John), Hayden Campbell, Shelby Moody (Christopher), Courtney Campbell, Keith Higgins (Ariana), and Thomas Higgins; and a great-grandmother to Bentley Higgins, Alyssa Higgins, Ezekiel Higgins and Lorelai Higgins. She is also survived by her siblings Dennis Heberlein (Carol), Carol Fall (James), Janice Phillips (Victor) and Gregory Heberlein (Bonnie); her brother-in-law Daniel Cenfetelli (Karen); and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Bonita Schoen (Henry, deceased). Eileen’s love and devotion to her family, her gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to everyday moments will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A memorial service will be held in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 9367 Wattsburg Road, with interment to follow at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery, 6000 Lake Pleasant Road.
