Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 84.
Died 12/29/2021.

Donna Mae Spangler October 25, 1937 – December 29, 2021 Raleigh, North Carolina Donna Mae (Rinehart) Spangler passed away on December 29, 2021 after a short battle with congestive heart failure. She was born October 25, 1937 in York, Pennsylvania. Donna was a wife, mother and homemaker before her move to Raleigh in 1975. She then worked for Martin Marietta as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2002. Donna was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gathering her family to share delicious food and lots and lots of laughter. Donna was a great cook, but also loved her favorite snacks: peanut butter cups and vanilla ice cream. She enjoyed music of all types and was often humming or singing while she worked. She also loved to dance; jitterbugging as a teen, dancing along to American bandstand as a young wife and mother, and square dancing as a many-year member of the Capital Squares. Donna enjoyed playing cards with her circle of friends, as well as gardening, needlework and nature. Donna is survived by her 3 daughters and their families; daughters Lori Spangler (Ernest Burdge), Sue Burcher (Greg) and Karen Jarrell (Sandy) and by her 6 grandchildren, Scott Kinney (Carly), Michael Kinney (Yolanda Scarpati), Jackson Burcher (Lorena), Casey Burcher, Raymond Jarrell and Fern Jarrell. She is also survived by her brothers Larry Rinehart (Lois) and Bob Rinehart, all of York, PA, as well as nieces and nephews. She adored her family and will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Attendees will be asked to wear a face mask. Memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare Hospice, https://www.transitionslifecare.org/ or to Graystone Baptist Church, mailing address 7474 Creedmoor Rd; Box 302; Raleigh NC 27613
