Obituary
David Watson

Cary, North Carolina

Age 82.
Died 6/9/2025.

David Watson June 1943 – June 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Watson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. On June 9, 2025, at the age of 82, David passed away peacefully to be reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Margaret, his wife of 50 years. Born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, David grew up with a love for the Barnsley football club and the Yorkshire Dales. After completing a degree in chemical engineering at Loughborough University, he began his career and his travels. He met his wife on a flight to Mexico City while working in Mexico. In 1970, he married Margaret McKenna in her hometown in Arvagh, Ireland. Together, they raised three children, Stephen, Kieran, and Tara, instilling in them a love of travel and the values of kindness, perseverance, and appreciation for family. David is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his parents, Stephen and Mary Watson. He is survived by his three children and their spouses (Stephen and Natasha Watson, Kieran Watson, Tara and Brian Reichenbach) and six grandchildren (Sophie Watson, Kiera Watson, Luke Watson, Claire Watson, John Reichenbach, and Simon Reichenbach). David was known for his strength of character, his sharp wit, and the love he gave to his family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf, following football, aka soccer, and being the first in the carpool line to pick up his grandchildren from school. A private funeral service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene in Apex, North Carolina. David will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved him.
