David Bayard Miller

Butner, North Carolina

Age 76.
Died 10/22/2024.

David Bayard Miller, 76, of Butner NC, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at  the Hock Family Pavilion. He was born December 7,1947 in Durham NC to the late Udelle and Joseph Miller. David was an active member of the community.  He was a past master of the Creedmoor Masonic Lodge, A pillar of the local amateur radio community. He managed and owned the 146.940 repeater in Butner that he kept going for decadesThe founding member of the Falls Lake Amateur Radio Club.  David retired after a 30 year career, for the State of North Carolina as a Boiler Operator, where he worked his way up to become the Supervisor of the Plant. David was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.  He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the banjo, guitar, and the stand up bass.  He played in multiple bluegrass bands over the years, including the Veazey Ridge Boys and the Willow Creek Bluegrass Band. David loved rebuilding old tractors and was a member of the Lord Granville Agriculture Association.  David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed and remembered. David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet S. Miller; son, Leonard Miller (Ashley); daughters, Angela Martin (Kristine), and Lisa Everhart; grandchildren, Rebecca Roy, Alyssa Miller, Brooklyn Miller, Cali Miller, Makenzie Carter, Raelynn Miller, Autumn Miller, and Oliver Miller; great-granddaughter, Haisley Miller; brother, Jerry Miller; sister, Phyllis Wilson (Miller),and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday November 2, 2024 at the Creedmoor Masonic Lodge 202 Main Street Creedmoor NC from 10:00am to 11:00am, with the Memorial service following at 11:00am to 12:00pm with Steve Burnette officiating.  Flowers can be sent to 205 East C St. Butner, NC 27509.
