Obituary
Danny Glover

Apex, North Carolina

Age 73.
Died 4/21/2025.

Danny Ray Glover, 73, of Apex, NC, passed away on April 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born and raised in Apex, Danny was the son of the late Ernest and Martha Glover. He was a proud product of his hometown, where he made a name for himself early on as a standout football player for the Apex Yellow Jackets. Known on the field as "The GO-Rilla" for his powerful size and speed, Danny's nickname was a testament to his larger-than-life presence that would follow him long after the final whistle. Following high school, Danny attended the Agricultural Institute at NC State University. It was there he deepened his passion for hard work and community, foundations that helped him later build a successful family care home business with his beloved first wife, Jane Glover, and his mother, Martha. Their work touched many lives and reflected the compassion that Danny carried throughout his life. Danny was a man who lived through laughter and music. A child of the '60s, he found solace and wisdom in song and had a gift for lifting others’ spirits with a quick joke, a warm smile, or an impromptu performance. He was known to light up any room, not just with his humor, but with a deep and steady presence. Whether celebrating with friends or offering a shoulder during hard times, Danny had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. He was a nurturing soul, someone you could count on—whether to laugh, to listen, or to simply be there. His friendships were lifelong, and his love for his family was unwavering. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Martha Glover, and his first wife, Jane Glover. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Glover of Apex; his children and grandchildren: Daughter; Dana Glover and granddaughter Anji Johnson of Cary; Son; Steven Glover and grandson Steven Royal Glover, and granddaughter Madison Glover of Apex; Son; Daniel and his wife Kellye Glover, and grandchildren Emma, Bella, and Ruffin Glover of Coats. Great-grandchildren, Grace and Anastasia. A funeral service will be held at Salem Baptist Church old sanctuary on Friday 25th 2025 @11:00AM with a graveside to follow at the family cemetery across from the church. A visitation service will be held at 10:00AM in the sanctuary prior to the 11:00AM Service. Flowers are encouraged and appreciated and can be delivered to Salem Baptist Church office. Danny's memory will forever be a melody in the hearts of those who knew him.
