Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 68.
Died 6/4/2025.

In Loving Memory of Chris Richard August 29th,1956 – June 4th, 2025 Chris Richard, 68, passed away on June 4th, 2025. Born in Miami, Florida, Chris lived a vibrant and generous life in South Florida, Tallahassee, and finally Raleigh, North Carolina, where his warmth and wit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. Chris was preceded in death by his spouse, Tami Richard; his parents, Shirley Mills and John Farmer and his sister Cathy Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving children: Tyree Richard (Sarah Stadalsky), Teylor Richard, Amber Carlos (Mike Carlos), and Joemichael Lanclos; Roxanne Decker(mother of Hazel, Harper and Hudson) and his cherished grandchildren: Hazel Richard, Harper Richard, Hudson Richard, Birdy Carlos, and Liam Carlos. He also leaves behind his siblings: Theresa Snipes, Helen Angster, Richard Richard (Becky Richard), and Andy Richard (Angie Richard), along with countless extended family and friends who were like family. Chris was known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and talent for delivering unforgettable one-liners—usually with a bit of shock value. He had a heart that encompassed everyone he met and a mind full of knowledge that he shared freely. Whether you needed tech help, life advice, financial support, or just someone to listen, Chris was always there. He loved family get-togethers, cooking delicious meals, and watching Star Trek with passion and pride. A proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Chris lived authentically and supported others in doing the same. He was truly a constant presence—someone who made every room brighter and every life fuller. A memorial gathering to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 5:00 PM at the North Bend Community Center, 5837 Mapleridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an LGBTQ+ organization of your choice, in Chris’s honor.
