Obituary
Charles Robert Walker III

Cary, North Carolina

Age 64.
Died 10/21/2025.

Treasured husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Charles Robert Walker III, known to friends and family as "Chuck," passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Pittsboro, North Carolina at the age of 64 of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare, rapid and fatal degenerative brain disorder. Chuck was born in 1961, in Staten Island, New York. He was the youngest child of the late Charles Robert Walker, Jr. and Margaret Noles Walker. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Truelove. Chuck and his wife Angie have been happily married for thirteen years. They bonded over their mutual appreciation of family and living life full of laughter each day. They continued to share unconditional love, respect and understanding throughout their happy marriage. Chuck grew up in Staten Island, NY, as well as King’s Mountain NC. He graduated from Kings Mountain High School and North Carolina State University with a Degree in Landscape Horticulture and a passion for design. Chuck’s good humor and generous spirit touched everyone he met. Always ready for adventure, Chuck never let life’s challenges hold him back. Chuck will be remembered as a tough and tireless advocate for the development and revitalization of the Raleigh area and surrounding communities. Chuck’s life work was focused on applying his education, skills and experience as a land planner and landscape architect to development projects throughout the state. He took great pride in the value that his work created and the pleasure and security it brought to those who live, work and play in places that he helped create. He reveled in the strong and lasting friendships he established with colleagues and clients. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of thirteen years, Angela Phipps Walker; a son, Zachary Walker and wife Daena, of Huntersville, NC; daughter Kara Pruitt and husband Austin of Wake Forest, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Mia and Walker; his sisters Ann Hurley and Karen Sugarman; brother-in-law, Joe Truelove; his beloved nieces and nephews; along with many special family friends. Chuck will be cremated as was his wish. Ever the life of the party, Chuck was always very clear a party should be held upon his death. In fulfillment of that wish, his wife and family will send him off in style at a time and place to be determined at a later date. The Walker family wishes to thank all those who helped Chuck and his family through this past month. Your support and friendship during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
