Carol Andrews Otten

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 87.
Died 6/23/2022.

Carol Andrews Otten passed away on June 23, 2022. She was born October 11, 1934 in Newburgh, New York to Albert Henry Andrews and Virginia Thompson Andrews. She graduated from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland with a degree in Biology. She was a member of North Raleigh United Methodist Church and for many years sang with the Chancel and Silver Chords choirs and participated in JOY Fellowship activities. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling and spending time with her family. Carol will be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate person to everyone who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Richard J. Otten; her parents; stepmother, Jesse Elizabeth Andrews; and her brother, Peter R. Andrews. She is survived by her children Betsy (Jeff) Ferla, Alice Otten, Linda (Paul) Fitch, and Bill (Kathy) Otten; her grandchildren Joe (Culbreth) Ferla, Abigail (Kevin) Biegert, Virginia Fitch, Tim Fitch, Eric Fitch, Christopher (Sarah) Albert, Matthew Otten, Graham Otten, and her 5 great-grandchildren Joanna, Sophie & Milo Biegert; Jude & Avery Ferla. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at North Raleigh United Methodist Church, 8501 Honeycutt Road, Raleigh North Carolina. The service will also be livestreamed on the church’s website: nrumc.org In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol’s honor to Transitions LifeCare, Philanthropy Dept., 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh North Carolina 27607, transitionslifecare.org/donate or the North Raleigh United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 8501 Honeycutt Road, Raleigh North Carolina 27615.
