Obituary
Barbara Teeter

Raleigh, North Carolina

Age 84.
Died 6/10/2023.

Barbara Gregory Teeter, 84, of Raleigh, NC passed away in her home on June 10, 2023. Barbara was born on September 25, 1938, to the late Joseph and Lorene Gregory in Reidsville, NC. Barbara was an intelligent woman who early in her career became a registered nurse, practicing in Richmond, VA until stepping away from nursing to raise her two children. She later returned to the workforce as a real estate broker. She enjoyed a long, successful career in Raleigh and Greensboro. Additionally, she obtained her General Contractors license, of which she was quite proud. Barbara was involved in her community in numerous ways, serving with the NC Jaycees, United Methodist Women, Wake County Republican Women, and the NC Association of Realtors. She also served as a docent at the Governor’s mansion. Known as “Nana” to her family, she loved her parents, children, and grandchildren. She was the happiest preparing elaborate meals for and hosting her family. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed discussing politics with anyone. Decorating her home for Christmas, gardening, traveling to Colonial Williamsburg and the NC coast were some of her favorite activities. Barbara is survived by her son Greg Weaver (wife Susan) of Raleigh, and daughter Susan Weaver (spouse Rebecca Saulnier) of Raleigh. She is also survived by granddaughter Carly Weaver Price (husband Duncan) of Raleigh and grandson Davis Weaver of Spartanburg, SC. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Phil Gregory. The family appreciates the care provided to our mother by Audrey Perry and Annette Strickland. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church on Friday, June 23, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
