Obituary
Ann Linden Stewart

Durham, North Carolina

Age 81.
Died 9/28/2025.

Ann Linden Stewart (May 23, 1944 - September 28, 2025) of Carolina Beach, NC. Daughter of the late Fay (Kabatznick) and Ben Linden. For 59 years, loving wife of Robert Stewart, and devoted mother of William (and wife, Maureen) and Melinda (and husband, Thomas). Adoring “Grandy” to John Benjamin Stewart, Rachel Fay Stewart, Hannah Stewart Sheehy, and Katherine Grace Sheehy. When spending time with her grandchildren she often said her “cup runneth over.” Ann was an outstanding sister-in-law and Auntie Ann. Born and raised in Brookline, she was the proud graduate of Beaver Country Day School (1962) and then earned her BA from Wheelock College (1966). With Bob, she raised their children in Needham, Massachusetts. She was a member of First Parish in Needham UU and worked in their office for many years. In search of warmer days, Ann and Bob moved to Carolina Beach, North Carolina, where they have lived for over a decade. Ann will be dearly missed by her family and many friends from Brookline, Needham, Medfield, Holliston, and Carolina Beach. She became “Mom Stewart” to many, known for her gifts of listening and making everyone feel loved and valued. There will be a celebration of life to honor Ann on November 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the First Parish in Needham, Unitarian Universalist, 23 Dedham Avenue in Needham, Massachusetts. Ann had a lifelong love for her rescue dogs. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Paws Place Dog Rescue P.O. Box 67, Winnabow, NC 28479 Donations can be made here: https://pawsplace.org/support-paws-place-dog-rescue/
